At 7 PM there will be a public vesper service in the Choir Church. This service is organized by the Council of Churches under the leadership of pastor Wim van den Berg.
At 7:40 PM there will be the ceremony on the Abbey Square. There, the city poet and a student of Nehalennia will recite a poem. Following this, Mayor van Mastrigt will give a commemorative speech. Here at 8 PM, we will hold two minutes of silence, followed by the laying of wreaths and a lament in memory of the dead. The ceremony will conclude with a parade. Christian Brass Band Middelburg and Kelly Heathfield of Inter Scaldis Pipes and Drums will provide the musical accompaniment.
At 8:45 PM, the Royal Oratorio Society, in collaboration with The Roosevelt College Choir in the Nieuwe Kerk, will perform Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man.
