The Zeeland Slavery Monument on the Balans in Middelburg is a monument commemorating the abolition of slavery and was erected in Middelburg in 2005. The site of the monument, the Balans, was the center of the Middelburgsche Commercie Compagnie's operations at the time of slavery. For nearly 20 years, Keti Koti Zeeland has been organized around this Zeeland Slavery monument.
