Middelburg is the host city for the COC Song Festival 2025. The 29th edition of the famous rainbow song contest will take place in the theater on Saturday, November 15. COC Zeeland & West Brabant is organizing this edition together with the national team.
During the last edition of the festival in 2024 in Nijmegen, Breakout won for COC Zeeland & West Brabant with the song 'The One Who'll Find'.
This brings the festival back to Zeeland after 14 years. The last time was in 2011. The organization looks forward to welcoming participants and visitors from all over the country to Middelburg for an evening of music with a lhbti+ theme.
"It is a beautiful next step in the growth of our association to bring the COC Song Festival back to our region," said Adri Nieuwkerk, interim chairman of COC Zeeland & West Brabant. "That we may organize this festive event again in Middelburg does make us proud. Especially in these times it is important to make room for positivity, visibility and awareness - and we prefer to do that together with our community here in the region. We look forward to making this festival an unforgettable celebration of diversity!"
All COC associations affiliated with COC Netherlands and other lhbti+ organizations can participate in the COC Song Festival with an entry. As an artist you can participate by contacting and applying through one of these organizations. Some organizations organize preliminary rounds, others directly search and select a participant in their region themselves.
Registration as a participant for this edition can be done until October 1, 2025 through the application form on the website of the COC Song Festival.
